Fundraising Events
What's 4 Dinner, located in Smithtown, is a custom "meal assembly kitchen" where you come in and create dinners for your family that are both easy to assemble and affordable! The freshest ingredients are already sliced and diced, ready to be assembled. Choose 4,8 or 12 meals, each of which serves a family of 6. Each person is asked to donate one meal to be given to a family whose loved one is going through breast cancer treatment. You may check our FFLF calendar for our next fundraising event at What's 4 Dinner or, call Donna or Karen at What's 4 Dinner to sign up to assemble your meals at any time that is convenient for you. Just mention the Friends for Life Foundation so we can be sure to receive your donated meal. Any other questions or if do you need help to register? You can always call Hillary at FFLF too! www.whats4dinnerinc.com (631)656-9775
Submitted by Max...(Jeff and Barbara's son) The time had finally come for me to set up the stand to sell my cookies
and see just how much people care. I never thought that selling
cookies would leave me in tears and speechless. The thought and sight
of people just swarming over to me shouting "I want one" and "these are
really good" left me with no words. $3 for a cookie is a little much, but
people bought them anyway. The best parts of the experience were when
people bought like 6 cookies at a time and when people didn't even buy
cookies- they just gave me their money. This one adolescent came over to
me and handed me $30. In response to this I looked a little awkwardly at
him and asked "so do you want 10 cookies?" He replied with an astonishing
answer which was something to the extent of "no, my mom had breast cancer.
Take it, I'll go and get more (money)." He walked away and the only words
I could find to dictate were "thank you". Words spoken in half a voice
because I didn't and still don't know enough words to express my full
gratitude. This experience has definitely made a large impact on me and it
is a memory I will take with me forever 12/15/07: B'nai B'rith
